China’s RX1E electric airplane upgraded to 2 hours flight time
This plane looks a lot like the electric Pipistrel Alpha Electro. On its debut two years ago, it only had 45 minutes of flight time, now it has 2 hours. The Alpha Electro has 90 minutes. When solid state batteries finally hit the market, these planes will be able to go 4 hours, probably with a simple upgrade. The FAA needs to get cranking on this, their certifications only mention piston or turbine engines, so you can’t get electric planes certified right now.
